The Sr. Consultant, Internal Communications will partner with the Senior Executive and senior management team to plan and develop internal communications messaging that support the strategic objectives of the business. They will assure messaging alignment and consistency in all internal communication efforts affecting employees within the Function globally. They provide communications expertise, support, consultation, and guidance to a specific client group or functional department. Will be responsible for project management of internal communications initiatives that are large and/or complex in scope. Communicates policies, programs and key issues to employees through multiple internal channels.


Responsibilities:

  • Partners closely with various levels of management to identify business/communication objectives and translate into internal communications plans. Ensures effective delivery of key messages to targeted employee audiences. Ensures alignment with brand, enterprise goals, and culture

  • Researches, develops, and executes large and/or complex internal communications plans. Performs project management duties to include planning, tracking deliverables, identifying potential visuals and interfacing with creative teams for production as well as working with other areas (internally and externally) for execution.   • Ensures that client projects support and align with internal communications plans and strategies, follow guidelines regarding the Liberty Mutual corporate brand image, and maintain consistency with communications standards.

  • Utilizes current communications vehicles and identifies and tests emerging vehicles/technologies to better reach targeted audiences.

  • Ensures projects are completed within desired budget, schedule and quality limits. Evaluates communication plan effectiveness using appropriate success metrics. Adjusts plans based on employee and management feedback.

  • Plans and performs advanced research and writing activities pertaining to internal communications publications or other writing assignments such as executive speechwriting, or partnership with external communications efforts.

  • Recommends internal communications solutions to open ended business challenges.

  • Assists in the creation of significant business documents for various presentations and meetings.

  • Maintains coordinated calendar of client communications activity and reconciles with the rest of the enterprise-wide communications.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in in Communications, English or Journalism) or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of relevant and progressively more responsible communications experience, to include internal communications work.
  • Displays business acumen and integrated thinking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and advanced project planning skills with a proven track record of execution.
  • Strong knowledge of various communications vehicles to include both current and emerging technologies.
