The AVP directs and coordinates activities of the application services to meet the business’s goals of revenue, risk mitigation, and cost containment. Analyzes the needs of the business and provides directions on priorities for feasibility studies, business cases, strategic roadmaps, for new and/or existing technology. May serve on a business board member or relationship manager for the customer functions.

This senior leadership role is responsible for leading, planning, organizing, controlling, and setting strategies for long-term Roadmap, foundational upgrades and architectural standards & direction for the International Application portfolio and related support services. The AVP acts as the primary point of contact to functional area senior management in all matters concerning current systems, current support capacity and future technology resources.

Responsible for Business Unit or Support Unit Application Development & Maintenance:

· Lead BU or SU new application development, application maintenance, and tools development with drive towards off-the-shelf goal with smart customization.

· Drive and support Agile practices across the International Application Development organization; create teams with all skills and expertise to deliver applications that support groups of business capabilities.

· Align strategies for international across all BUs and Business Functions (AppDev, local delivery, et cetera)-to ensure relevant business capabilities can be delivered in relevant markets.

· Lead architectural strategy in partnership with shared services and domestic alignment

· Support and enforce the use of standards, security compliance, procedures, best practices and methodologies.

· Ensure IT is adequately resourced in support of the business priorities (negotiate augmented or incremental resource needs with appropriate stakeholders).

· Steer delivery teams to meet service commitments for on-time, on-budget and meeting or exceeding business expectations.

· Remains abreast of developments in the application development field.

· Monitor customer service level standards and ensures that customer needs are being met.

Education:

· High School diploma or GED equivalent

Previous Experience:

· Requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience including 7+ years experience managing Information Technology departments.

· Experience with managing complex IT organizations, environments and projects.

  • 7+ years’ experience in at least one of the following areas:
    • MIS
    • Computer Science
    • Software Development
    • Application implementation/Systems Engineering
    • Application Architecture
    • Solutions Architecture
    • Business Analysis
    • Project Management
  • 7+ year’s leadership experience in leading technical teams and managing resources.
  • 7+ years of experience monitoring staff performance results and addressing problem behaviors to achieve improvement

· 7+ years of experience multi-tasking and juggling multiple projects and customers’ demands simultaneously

Environment/Physical Demands: The incumbent must perform duties under deadline pressure in a fast-paced, high volume, multi-office work environment. In addition, the ability to prioritize, plan, deal with difficult situations and effectively communicate orally and in written form is essential to the success of this position.

Travel:

· Able to travel as needed, potentially up to 20%
