ARS is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a dynamic team focusing on creating innovative products in a lab environment. We have revamped how ARS delivers technology solutions. We strive to create a high performance, user centric culture, to empower engineers to deliver valuable products to our customers.

We are looking for energetic talent to bring both skill and ideas to our team at our CompoZed lab located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Our Charlotte CompoZed lab is a part of Allstates global network of Agile development labs. We partner closely with Architects, and build digital products, service APIs, and component services that enhance the rescue experience for our customers.

Job Qualification

Education:

A Bachelors Degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, or similar field with a solid understanding of Computer Science

Required:

5+ years of software development experience (core languages: Java and JavaScript) in an Agile environment using Test Driven Development (TDD)
Experience building applications iteratively
Strong verbal communication skills
Willingness to lead discussions in daily and weekly team-improvement meetings
Continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) such as Jenkins, Concourse CI and/or Gradle
Developing/consuming Web Services (REST, SOAP) and APIs
Data (SQL or similar query language) and data constructs (XML, JSON)
JavaScript frameworks such as React.Js and/or Node.js
Front end experience (HTML5, CSS3, Less) developing responsive applications with a mobile first mentality
Source Control Management (preferably Git/GitHub)

Preferred:

Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Kibana, and/or Grafana)
