Job Summary:


Responsible for leading a team that supports all M&A and divestiture activities through dedicated expertise and IT project management. Works with the business to identify, develop, acquire, and implement the installation of new information systems or integration of existing systems as a result of M&A activity.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages the overall process and/or a team of employees who complete project-oriented duties related to the IT integrations and divestitures and assimilation of an acquired entity and its assets into or out of the company.

  • Manages the movement of technology off our platforms in accordance with technical service agreements. Determining what technologies, we would retain and would be moved to the new company in the best interests of Liberty Mutual strategic goals and outcomes.

  • Hires and manages a small team of individual contributors. Provides coaching and develops team members. Defines objectives and development plans. This may include both M&A program and consulting members as well as technical analysts and developers targeting optimization through automation and lean principles.

  • Responsible for identifying workflows and processes that are repeatable and can be automated. Determines a go-forward approach to decrease manual work to mature current state towards a product oriented-platform with defined and iteratively improving capabilities.

  • Provides thought leadership with respect to all IT M&A related matters. May weigh in on best practices, active negotiations, partner across organizations to bring new technologies and practices to benefit M&A capabilities relative to scale, speed, and quality.



Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions and the insurance business as typically acquired through a Masters degree and a minimum of 10 years experience.

  • Large scale program management and leadership capabilities, customer centric orientation w/experience in agile and waterfall methodologies.

  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the connection between IT and other areas of the organization.

  • Highly developed consulting, negotiation, facilitation and influencing skills.

  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills; strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization at all levels, and be viewed as a team player with exceptional communication, analytical, and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguous situations. Comfortable making a decision when not all data points available.
