Job Description
The primary objective of the Field Sales Associate (FSA) position is to learn about company sales and customer service practices and demonstrate the application and mastery of sales, recruiting and leadership concepts that will lead the incumbent to a sales leadership position as deemed appropriate.
Reports to a senior sales leader within the Field Sales Organization. No direct reports.
Key Responsibilities
Development and Education Activities
- Successfully completes the education and development program for FSA.
- Develops the skills and competencies necessary to transition to a front-line sales leadership position.
- Successfully completes the Allstate University new agency owner education curriculum, which takes place in both the region and at home office.
- Completes Property & Casualty, Life & Health, FINRA, and Designated Supervisory Principal (DSP) licensing requirements.
- Completes any other leadership and development workshops as deemed necessary.
- Participates in leader job shadowing across all sales functional areas.
- Develops Core Competencies which are a combination of complementary skills and knowledge bases that result in the FSAs ability to execute business objectives.
- Demonstrates the application and mastery of sales and leadership concepts that are pivotal to a distribution leadership position.
Selling
- Works in a high-performing agency for a specified period of time to successfully complete the selling and agency development requirements.
- Achieves successful results through Property & Casualty processes and Financial Services processes.
- Applies knowledge and skills learned during the Education Phase.
- Demonstrates agency management and process skill development.
- Understands agency office workflow, new business sales, multi-line bundling, retention processes and other general office operating procedures and standards.
- Gains knowledge and skills needed to be able to sell mutual funds, variable annuities and universal life products in a manner compliant within the securities industry regulations.
- Demonstrates ability to sell new business and cross-sell to existing business.
- Demonstrates ability to provide qualified life and retirement leads to financial specialists.

Deployment
- Understands the Allstate agency owner opportunity and compensation plan.
- Develops skills necessary to source for new candidates, present the Allstate agency opportunity, and appoint new agency owners.
- Understands the relationship between activity and results and be able to translate learnings to the agency owner and their staff.
- Understands cash flow, incentives and business planning to assist a new agency owner through the appointment process.
- Develops interviewing and closing skills.
Job Qualifications
Preferred Education and Experience
- 5 years sales and/or sales management experience recommended
- 4-year college degree preferred
Analytical and Technical Skills
- Understanding of pricing, claims, local market planning, sales trend analysis and marketing data.
- Ability to analyze trends, develop measurement systems, and develop corrective actions.
- Property & Casualty and Financial Services product knowledge.
- Knowledge of the industry including competitors and trends.
- Experience using Allstate technology and Microsoft Office products.
- Business consulting and sales skills, knowledge and experience.
- Ability to effectively collaborate and influence through virtual interactions.
Non-technical Skills
- Strong communication skills Includes presentation, business writing, negotiation, and motivation skills.
- Problem solving skills Uses judgment by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues.

P&C, Life and Health Licenses, as appropriate for the state
