Job Description
The Claims Integrated Digital Enterprise (IDE) team is responsible for leading the organization into the future by designing, acquiring, and connecting digital capabilities for our customers and employees. This person will report into the test and learn team. The focus of their work will be in testing and prototyping concepts and capabilities to be used by customers, employees and key partners.
This role is responsible for developing a testing or prototype approach, gaining alignment for the approach, executing the approach and measuring results. Candidates will interact across departments and levels as they craft and execute a test/prototype approach.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage test/prototype projects as assigned.
- Establish project objectives, timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables and budgets
- Researches and analyzes activities that may impact productivity and makes suggestions for revision to improve workflow and resource management
- Collaborates with stakeholders, business representatives, and technology to identify requirements for functional and design changes and test plans
- Identifies, defines, and analyzes risks and issues associated with a project
- Develops mitigation plans when appropriate
- Ensures timelines for key activities are met to keep the project on track for delivery
- Compiles data to assist with management discussions concerning health of a program/project
Research and Analytics
- Performs advanced level research using various sources, tools and applications
- Analyzes complex data and directs analysis from of others
- Leads research to develop a complete understanding of internal and competitor claim handling processes and practices as context for strategic mapping and competitive recommendations
Communication / Change Management / User Training
- Represents department in cross functional strategic sessions
- Maintains an advanced understanding of our corporate direction to help ensure strategic recommendations are in alignment
- Collaborates with communicators regarding project scope, process, objectives, and technology changes and updates; Assesses communication and training needs of end users and recommends solutions
Key Responsibilities (Cont'd)
- Produces communications in print or on various social media to inform employees of project status, and other news
- Leads training sessions with small groups of employees and individually, if needed, using a variety of training mediums, including video, webinars and quick tutorials.
- Develops team strategy for identifying, building and maintaining relationships with external entities that will help provide additional context for strategic planning
- Monitors external trends in related and unrelated fields to foster awareness and context to guide planning activities
- Participates in conferences and boards as necessary
- Effectively leads team members to develop research and recommendation packages
Process Design / Vendor Relations / Reporting
- Evaluates current processes and tools, researches industry standards for cost effectiveness or functionality, and notes areas where processes and tools can be improved based on industry and user experience feedback
- Tests new processes and tools and oversees testing by other Claims areas; coordinates feedback and testing from Claims
- Works with vendors to provide use case and functionality needed for Claims specifically
- May assist with vendor selection and procurement
- Designs surveys to collect feedback on vendors and communicates results
- Compiles, analyzes, and explains metrics using software tools and manually compiling data; communicates and interprets project metrics to leadership
- Creates and distributes various monthly reports
- Collaborates with internal and external reporting sources to ensure data needed for the reports are received on time
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree
- Advanced written and oral communication skills
- Ability to learn and apply working knowledge of insurance policy, coverage, and regulation
- Ability to learn and apply working knowledge of claim processes, policies, procedures, claim systems, coverage, liability, damage estimating, and/or settlement and adherence to applicable legal compliance standards
- Applies conflict management and problem resolution skills in managing internal and external customer relationships
- Applies problem solving skills to continuously improve business outcomes
- Ability to assist leadership in achieving business unit objectives
- Ability to investigate, evaluate and settle highly complex claims
- Provides individual decision making within authority limits
- Applies skill in motivation, organization, training, coaching and facilitation of teamwork
- Applies broad knowledge of analytical procedures to reconcile, manipulate, and recognize patterns of data
- Applies broad ability to leverage learned technical skills in support of team objectives
