Job Description
The Building Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the operation of company owned or leased facilities to provide employees and guest with an environment that enhances their efficiency, creativity and productivity while maintaining a safe and secure workplace. This includes technical skills to support building-related equipment, perform maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, UPS and other maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection and maintenance of buildings, grounds, and related systems and structures. Operation of the building automation system.
- Operation of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and computerized facility support equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Diagnose/troubleshoot malfunctions and perform corrective action.
- Ability to work with hand tools and test equipment.
- Install wire/cable for electrical, telephone and data.
- Assist in purchasing activities.
- Knowledge of inventory control. Set up stock procedures and maintain proper inventory for building and related systems.
- Material handling skills. Able to unload trucks and move material where required.
- Create work orders and follow through work stream to completion.
- Troubleshoot workstations, wiring, and data transmission equipment to minimize downtime. Activate LAN connections.
- Apply Federal, State, and OSHA regulations and guidelines
- General working skill/ability regarding HVAC systems, pumps, gas engines, high and low electric voltage, UPS operation and distribution, kitchen equipment/refrigerator, test equipment operation, purchasing procedures, principles of inventory, and both verbal and written communications
Job Qualifications
- Facility engineering supported by 5-10 years previous work in building maintenance, manufacturing equipment maintenance, or technical trades, or other technical engineering support.
- Systems integration, clearly understanding operational and performance dependences.
- Major mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance and operation
- UPS equipment and electrical distribution, commercial electrical experience (440V/3- Phase).
- HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and fire suppression systems maintenance and operation.
- Kitchen equipment, pumps, gas engines, high/low voltage,
- Reading blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Federal, State, OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Building automation systems, emergency power management systems, and electronics.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to effectively use a PC and Microsoft Office software.
- Work in an environment celebrating a diverse workforce and exceptional customer service.
- Support 24X7 office and industrial operations with multiple business partners.
- May be required to work different shifts, weekends and holidays.
- Position is physically demanding and requires occasional heavy lifting
