Job Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity on our Benefits team for a Health and Well-Being Benefits Consultant. In this role, you will have the opportunity use your project management and consulting experience to support a wide array of health and well-being (wellness) benefits programs, systems and administration, impacting employees physical, emotional and financial well-being. In addition, this role provides analytical, project, service and implementation support, leads and/or participates on project teams consisting of Benefits and other internal department staff as well as consultants and vendors. This role is also responsible for monitoring projects and updating teams on status as well as managing vendors involved in project. Another aspect of this role is developing accommodations to address problems or issues and delivering and supporting presentations to Benefits and HR leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages implementation of assigned projects. Example projects include health and well-being (wellness) strategy development and approval; health and insurance plan market analysis and benefit updates; health and well-being vendor identification and analysis, including RFIs/RFPs; health and well-being communication and education campaigns.
  • Executes project plans as assigned to meet the defined objectives and ensure outcomes that meet or exceed plan.
  • Establishes and maintains current management status reports of assigned projects and plans. Communicates objectives, scope and direction as well as current status to project teams.
  • Effectively transitions plan changes and new programs to Program and Vendor management team. Supports ongoing management of vendor programs and performance as needed, including program refreshes, measures and metrics.
  • May identify resource needs, organize team as needed and assign responsibilities or may provide assistance to project manager.
  • Oversees acceptance testing as appropriate. Develops test plan, testing requirements, coordinates test team and other resources, schedules testing and outcome evaluation, reports results.
  • Identifies and resolves project conflicts. Anticipates and recommends changes in scope or parameters to ensure desired result. Documents and communicates approved modifications.
  • Develops management reporting format to identify and track status of all projects in Benefits Department. Identifies and documents shortfalls/delays.
  • Performs other project management/support as needed
  • Prepares recommendations, presentations and communications on assigned projects.
  • Assist with overall departmental needs or initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training, plus 5-7 years of relevant and progressive experience in benefits, including general and advanced knowledge of health, insurance and well-being (wellness) programs and systems. Advanced Degree and/or HR Designation preferred.
  • Proficient in and possesses a strong Benefits/HR background.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication required.
  • Personal computer proficiency required; familiarity and experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Solid negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Strong interest and background in health and well-being programs and employer strategies is desirable.
