Leads the development of strategies to meet/exceed goals for Independent Agent (IA) personal and business lines written premium and new business written premium through national agency organizations and new opportunities with unique industry / carrier partnerships. Accountable for results and tactics to maximize growth, adjusting strategies where appropriate to support national/regional goal achievement. Develops business plans that leverage IA Liberty and Safeco agency programs, compensation and tactics aligned to unique agency models and marketplace opportunities

Job Responsibilities:


  • Leads team responsible for developing and executing on agency level business plans to achieve growth results. Responsible for alignment to Region objectives and coordination with Region leaders/field to maximize results through national partners.
  • Develops strategies to maintain effective business relationships with national agency executives through business reviews, national venues/sponsorship and joint planning to overcome challenges and implement tactical plans to influence performance at all levels of the agency organization.
  • Effectively leverages internal partners and dependencies to drive relevant programs based on national agency partner models. Collaborates across GRM Region leaders, GRM Home Office and GRS distribution to ensure consistency in communications and strategies directed through national agency partners. Provides accessible resources to inform the (internal) field (GRM/GRS) on unique handling and management of agency partners.
  • Handles escalated issues from national agency contacts related to service, underwriting, programs and claims in coordination with local teams. Drives successful issue-resolution for customers and agency partners.
  • Responsible for pipeline management of large-scale growth opportunities through carriers (book transfer) across all phases: market analysis; lead/contact strategy; proposal; contract execution; project management for full execution cycle.
  • Responsible for driving employee engagement by creating a culture of collaboration, supporting talent movement, ensuring development and performance management.
  • Achieves all financial metrics of annual plan, including marketing and compensation budgets and management of expenses and FTE
  • Establishes strong executive-level relationships for both personal and business lines. Directs strategy for business plans, joint partner planning and program utilization to meet objectives.
  • Builds strong relationships with prospective and/or secured carrier partner executives for large-scale growth opportunities.
  • Presents annual plans, ongoing updates and adjustment to plans. Coordinates plans and results with GRS management.
  • Assures strategic alignment and coordinated plan execution across eight Regions. Collaborates on key issues with GRS Senior Leaders.

Qualifications:


  • Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent training; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressively more responsible sales, marketing or relationship management experience in a complex environment.
  • Requires highly effective oral and written communication skills including presentation, persuasion, relationship management, timing, tact and negotiating skills.
  • Advanced level knowledge of (personal and business lines) products, marketing, distribution channels and brokers. Skills required include: leadership/management; strategic marketing & segmentation; problem analysis and resolution at a strategic and functional level; negotiation; communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to build effective relationships both internally and externally; as normally acquired through 8 or more years of progressively more responsible experience in project management, business development, relationship management within the national insurance community.

  • Must be able to accommodate up to 30%-40% travel
