AmTrust Financial, a global Fortune 500 company is currently recruiting for a Purchasing Agent in Cleveland, Ohio. In this position you will collaborate with business leaders help manage purchasing activities and decision making for products and services by assisting the business with bidding, negotiations and contracting.
Responsibilities- Manages purchasing activities and decision making for products and services by assisting the business with bidding, negotiations and contracting (Spend 50K-250K)
- Collaborates with business leaders to ensure business justification is documented.
- Evaluates and uses sound judgement on purchase requests ensures that similar products / services are already not purchased
- Ensure purchases follow the Procurement Policy.
- Supports a centralized invoicing process, by ensuring that vendors are sending invoices to the appropriate areas for review/processing (i.e. IT billing and Finance Accounts Payable), and communicate information that may help with the coding and allocation process.
- Develops strong working relationships with suppliers and holds suppliers accountable for deliverables as agreed up.
- Ensures Technology purchases are sent to IT Business office for entry into Service Now to route for appropriate approval
- Facilitate and manage the necessary approvals across the enterprise
- Assist in the consolidation of duplicate vendors across the organization by bringing to the attention of management and other departments.
- Conduct additional project management duties as assigned.
- Participates in continuous process improvement initiatives with Management.
- Receives and evaluates new Purchase requests, to determine next steps.
- Researches, interviews, and negotiates with suppliers to obtain prices and specifications, collaborating with IT Vendor Management on vendor use, selection, and contract review.
- Provides routine administrative support.
- Has familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
- Works under general supervision.
- A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
- Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
- College degree desired / preferred
- 2 years of relevant/qualified experience in the field or in a related area
