Our client is looking for a Broker Assistant for their Dallas office. The Broker Assistant will be responsible for providing support to multiple Brokers by preparing information for a variety of reports and documents, processing inquiries and forms and communicating with outside sources.

The successful candidate will possess a vibrant personality, excellent communication skills, great motivation, capacity to understand concepts and drive to succeed in a team environment. As a Broker Assistant, you will have the opportunity to grow your career with one of the largest independent wholesale insurance brokers in the U.S. insurance industry, and work with industry leading Surplus Lines Carriers.

Broker Assistant duties:
  • Clearing and setting up new business and renewal submissions.
  • Learn company programs and proprietary software for submitting renewal submissions to markets
  • Submitting new business submissions to markets
  • Providing status of market clearances to marketing broker
  • Setting up online insured and new business folders
  • Preparing quotes, cover letters, binders, and invoices
  • Catching errors in carrier quotes and binders for the marketing broker
  • Building relationships with each producing and marketing broker
  • Determining home state for surplus lines taxes, and providing proper affidavits for tax filing compliance
  • Understanding the clearing of accounts
  • Sorting and prioritizing work flow
  • Verifying accuracy of completed documents (SOV, Acord Applications)
  • Entering data into internet based system
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, (e.g. Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Multi-Tasking in a high paced environment
  • Learning special projects including loss summaries, etc.
  • Able to deal with high volume and high stress
Broker Assistant requirements:
  • Preferred experience in wholesale commercial insurance
  • Excellent computer skills including typing proficiency, Microsoft Office proficiency with an emphasis in Excel spreadsheets
  • Highly organized
  • Able to deal with stress

  • Must be able to work overtime during peak times

  • Property & Casualty Insurance License; or must take offsite insurance course and obtain insurance license within a year of hire
