Job Summary
Represents the Company in the interactive dialogue with employees seeking accommodations pursuant to the ADA, comparable state laws and Company policy.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Under direct supervision, manages assigned accommodation requests by collecting information from employees, medical providers, management and other constituents, coordinating input, advising management and employees as to reasonable alternatives , and recommending and making appropriate determinations for employee requests for medical accommodations, including temporary parking medical requests, restrictions stemming from a leave of absence and general accommodation requests, in a way that ensures all requests are handled in a timely and effective manner that is in compliance with federal and state laws.

Leads, coordinates and drives the accommodation processes to ensure effective communication amongst all involved parties (e.g. Employee, HRG, Manager, Health Care Providers, ER, Legal, etc.) in order to promote a positive employee relations environment.

Collaborates with Employee Relations Directors, HRGs, managers, employees and other functional areas to include Legal Services, Benefits, Leave of Absence Administration, Employee Services Unit, Corporate Environmental Health and Safety/Ergonomics, Risk Control, Worker's Compensation, etc. on accommodation and other potential disability issues of company concern.

Ensures company compliance with employment laws, regulations and policies related to accommodation and disability issues; participates in relevant policy development as appropriate.

Documents information acquired and Company efforts to reasonably meet employee requests.

Additional duties as assigned, including:

May facilitate process improvements and enable effective change by assisting in implementing improvement actions.

Compiles accommodation metrics and analyzes metrics for key trends or issues.

Participates in projects related to accommodation or disability issues.

May review provided medical documentation to evaluate and determine approval period for family medical leave requests.

Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree preferred.

Typically has a minimum of 1-2 years experience in Human Resources with Employee Relations experience preferred.

Accommodation case management experience preferred.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Basic knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act and other federal and state disability regulations. Basic knowledge of various accommodation and disability resources such as the Job Accommodation Network (JAN), etc. Basic analytical, problem solving and listening skills. Intermediate written and oral communication skills. Basic critical thinking and judgment on complex matters. Basic consulting and influencing skills. Ability to build relationships and develop rapport and credibility with customers, and colleagues. Ability to work well in a team environment. General knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Intermediate knowledge of applications including PeopleSoft, Case Management Tools and Microsoft Office products.

Environmental/Work Schedules/Other
Requires travel 10% of time.
