Job Summary
This role is responsible for ensuring overall strategic alignment and operational excellence for Business Insurance Technology's Management and Operations group. The scope of responsibilities includes production support services, transformation office and operational analytics to support Business Insurance applications, customers and stakeholders. As a member of the Business Insurance Technology senior leadership team, the incumbent will be responsible to operationally perform cross-value stream services and provide leadership to complete the transformation into an agile value stream model.



Marketing Description
  • Leads and directs resources to accomplish business, enterprise and departmental goals and objectives
  • Supports and influences related enterprise strategies; Partners with peers and leaders across the organization in implementing strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with Travelers objectives.
  • Leads production support functions including implementation and management of a control room framework with automation for real-time service monitoring
  • Triages and optimally manages incidents impacting BI technology and operations
  • Oversees Business Insurance resource strategies
  • Ensure high quality production releases and supports continuous process and automation improvements supporting all value streams; Manages and optimizes Access and Provisioning
  • Drives adoption with Value Stream owners for agile software engineering optimization
  • Supports technology risk management for the division
  • Coordinates all dimensions of reporting and metrics
  • Partners on tool selection, best practices, alignment with technologies and approaches.
  • Provides human resources management, including coaching, performance management, team development and growth, and workforce planning

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of technology or business related experience required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. 10 years of technology or business related experience preferred. 5 years of experience managing others preferred.

Knowledge of Agile methodology and ability to apply them to projects of moderate complexity. In the Agile environment the 2VP level typically performs as the Value Stream Engineer. Financial Awareness: Accounts for all fiscal budgeting and expense control for area of responsibility. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives will have a significant negative impact on the department and business area. Is responsible for information of importance and disclosure could harm the overall financial position of the company. Human Resource Management: Provides career growth for all direct and indirect reports by supporting technical and professional development/training, mentoring, promotional opportunities, adequate support services, and challenging work assignments. Supports and facilitates people's efforts in a productive environment. Maintains a balance between people and organization. Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all performance evaluations and development planning.
