Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Principal Software Engineer to join our Claims Intake team within the Global Risk Solutions organization. The Claims Intake team is focused on delivering new cutting-edge Claims systems that will dramatically improve our customers and claims handling associates experiences.

In this position, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with an Agile Team of Engineers, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters dedicated in delivering best in class solutions servicing new claims.
  • Provide technical leadership/consulting on complex to highly-complex system solutions, ensuring architectural alignment
  • Interact with stakeholders and development team to gather and define requirements for software applications, and work within project team on iterative development that delivers a high-quality product.
  • Help drive modernization efforts making use of current technologies and cloud-based microservices where possible
  • Analyze problems and design & implement effective solutions
  • Handle iterative end-to-end development, including coding, testing, and debugging
  • Help build a culture of innovation and continual learning by mentoring team members to increase full stack developer skills to increase efficiency and effectiveness

What you offer:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience, technical degree preferred. Generally, 8+ years of professional experience.
  • A passion for clean, defect free code and the craft of software development
  • A strong background and experience with JAVA and modern UI development utilizing JavaScript frameworks (REACT/ANGULAR/VUE)
  • Experience with Test Driven Design (TDD), have a test first mindset
  • Experience developing cloud-hosted, responsive, web applications, and backing services
  • Ability to build and integrate with APIs (REST, SOAP) including development and support of micro-services (SpringBoot, AWS Serverless)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP) and cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Developers, Designers)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with CI/CD processes and tools, testing frameworks, and practices (Jenkins/Bamboo, jUnit, Mocks, Selenium)
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a track record of taking solution ownership
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a critical thinker
