Job Summary
Travelers Corporate and Shared Systems (CSS) Architecture and Technology Management team has an exciting opportunity for an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Application Development Engineer to join our talented team. We are looking for a passionate technology professional knowledgeable in AWS who enjoys learning and helping others grow. You will be joining a growing team that is creating forward thinking software and process solutions to enable high quality and sustainable business delivery.
You pride yourself as a quick learner, comfortable with ambiguity, have a passion for analyzing and applying patterns, and enjoy working in a fast-paced agile environment. As a Cloud AppDev Engineer, you will apply existing Travelers technology to our CSS portfolio in support of the enterprise technology strategies.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Our preferred qualifications for this unique career opportunity would include:
  • At least 2 years of hands on experience using:
    • Designing and developing Amazon Web Services
    • Services, RESTful API
    • JavaScript, node and Web front end development
  • Other Technical Skills:
    • Understanding of Cloud and Enterprise Application Patterns
    • Code Deployment and Automation
    • Containerization , Docker, Kubernetes
    • Application packaging and deployment
    • Unit testing, automated testing, code reviews
  • Ideal candidate will be familiar with Lean-Agile practices and have experience with Extreme Programming practices such as Test Driven Development (Test-First) and/or pair programming


Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 1 year of experience in Technology required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 3 years of experience in Technology preferred. Developing knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Intermediate knowledge of one or more of the following technical skills: Foundational IT Infrastructure Operating Systems Software Knowledge of process discipline and IDLC methodology

Environmental/Work Schedules/Other
May require very occasional off-hours support.
