This position in a fast-paced environment is responsible for handling selected Personal Insurance (PI) vendor initiatives. The role includes interaction with multiple business partners internally across the Personal Insurance organization, as well as multiple external vendors. The individual will also work with division counterparts across the Travelers enterprise in Business Insurance, Bond, Claim, Corporate, and Legal. Individual contributor position reports to the Personal Insurance Vendor Management Team lead. This role does not manage others.
 

• Establish and maintain collaborative and positive working relationships with business customers, procurement/legal teams, enterprise partners and our external vendors.
• Partner with corporate Procurement, and participate in the initiation of new vendor efforts, assist in: providing vendor solutions to complex business problems, new and renewal contracting, and work with the team on vendor due diligence to meet enterprise standards.
• Drive and participate in discussions with vendors (in partnership with Procurement) on selected new product offerings and existing product enhancements.
• Drive and participate in discussions with internal business partners on the business value of selected vendor solutions and third party data sources.
• Handle details of vendor Request for Proposal, Request for Information, Pilots, and Proof of Concepts on various topics.
• Responsible for selected vendor controls and due diligence.
• Supports all Personal Insurance vendor audits.
• Responsible for ensuring completion of new and existing vendor security assessments.
• Work with enterprise business partners to keep abreast of vendor activity, and to inform on Personal Insurance vendor solutions.

• Bachelor's' degree required or equivalent work experience.
• Strong communication skills, strong computer literacy, and ability to analyze and resolve issues.
• Some knowledge of business law, contract and various financial issues is helpful. 
• Personal Insurance industry experience desired.
• Intermediate to Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred. Proficiency with Sharepoint, Access, and Visio preferred.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast paced environment desired.

• Demonstrates understanding of Personal Insurance business, which may include products, pricing/filing processes, claim, underwriting, risk management, compliance, distribution channels, business and sales centers, and/or systems and technology.
• Demonstrates strong business and technical acumen.

• Attention to detail, with critical thinking and analytical skills.
• Eager to learn.

Minimum 3 years of supplier/risk management or related experience required. Ability to successfully operate in a team and in a fast-paced environment required. Requires a demonstrated record of initiative, problem solving and change management.
