Resource Strategy and Operations has an opportunity in our Business Intelligence & Analytics for a Sr. Director of Business Intelligence Business Analyst. This position will support Claim Legal with Information Delivery capabilities to support the execution of Claim Legal business strategies.
Our objective is to automate information delivery and provide advanced information visualization capabilities for Claim Legal and it's business partners by providing the right information to the right audience at the right time. This role does not lead direct reports.
- Establishes and drive strategies and govern progress and outcomes of analytics work.
- Drives best practices around descriptive analytics with team.
- Uses understanding of Travelers business strategies to develop analytic strategies and project proposals; oversees implementation of those strategies.
- Collaborates with Business Intelligence/ Data teams and related business teams.
- Champions a data-driven, fact based approach to management.
- Partners with other key leaders to build and evolve a test and learn capability for rapid prototyping and development of analytics.
- Directs the construction of a variety of analyses including data mining, descriptive statistics and/or report development.
- Ensures that required analysis is provided by team members, providing direction and insight. Directs multiple, complex projects simultaneously as well as large, complex initiatives.
- Interprets data to recognize patterns and analyze trends, drawing business inferences and clearly articulating findings to target audience.
- Bachelors degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering Mathematics) preferred.
- 8+ years working successfully with SQL, Excel, Qlik and SAS, Python.
- Thorough knowledge of Descriptive Analytic practices and processes.
- Thorough knowledge of Insurance products/concepts.
- Experience working on broad/business-wide projects and initiatives working directly with senior management preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of the main features of the collection of data and the relationship of data elements to each other.
Key Information Delivery activities include:
- Enablement of LOB reporting and analysis capabilities
- Delivery of business discovery capabilities
- Support of strategic Claim IT Business Intelligence initiatives
- Simplification of our data and reporting footprint
- Developing business analytic strategies to support the Claim Legal and Claim business
Bachelors degree or equivalent education or 8 years analytics experience required. 7 years analytics experience required.
