GAINSCO Auto Insurance markets non-standard private passenger automobile products through retail agencies, in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Oklahoma, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, and Utah. GAINSCO Auto Insurance has fully integrated insurance capabilities, including marketing, underwriting, customer service and claims handling. Our operations are bilingual (English/Spanish).

Job Purpose: To lead, manage and develop the Regional Claims Unit which ensures accurate and quality service. Attract and retain top talent, which delivers results in high productivity environment; develop and maintain a high performance culture which delivers industry leading performance.

Results Expected and Duties Performed

45%

Accomplishes department results by setting and communicating clear goals which are meaningful and have an impact on the bottom line; assessing Supervisor and individual performance then holding accountable for results; providing feedback on productivity; coaching and training employees; conducting meetings; responding to inquiries.

25%

Maintains workflow by assuring prompt and accurate handling of assignments; corresponding with insureds, claimants and attorneys as necessary; controls and reduces loss ratios by utilizing the lowest costs in the settlement of claims and total losses.

20%

Ensures adherence to Company policies and procedures by reviewing Adjuster files for accuracy and quality; delivering performance corrections; approving claims and requests above the pre-set authority limits; responding to Department of Insurance complaints

10%

Maintains quality service by proactively communicating with staff, upper management and key personnel in various departments; responding to customer complaints in a timely manner.

Education: College degree required.

Experience: At least 7-10 years experience in property damage and bodily injury claims (non-attorney represented and attorney represented).

Minimum 5 years supervisory experience. Auto Insurance background required.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must possess the ability to lead and motivate employees, as well as hold accountable for results. Train, coach and teach others. Monitor and assess performance, providing feedback to the employees and supervisors on an ongoing basis. Efficiently manage own time and the time of others. Exercise objective judgment and critical decision making. Use logic and reasoning to identify approaches and solutions to problems.

Other: Valid Adjuster License. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Decision Making: Sets priorities and standards of performance.

Interpersonal Communication: Daily interaction with claimants, insureds, other insurance carriers, body shops, unit staff, upper management and key personnel in various departments.

Confidential and Sensitive Information: Personal information pertaining to insureds and claimants: dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, vehicle information, medical records. Personal information pertaining to employees: personnel file, salary data, performance corrections, dates of birth, addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers.
