As a Product Owner in Products Portfolio Management, youll collaborate with product management and IT to deliver changes in our system to enhance the customer experience, as well as drive profitability and growth for Liberty Mutual.


In this role, youll work closely with sponsors and your squad to bring system changes from conception to implementation. You will articulate and translate the sponsors business value and goals into prioritized features and stories based on the product vision. You will partner with the Senior Product Owner, Product Management and IT to deliver products that achieve business or technology objectives and improve customer satisfaction. Youll also be accountable for outcomes tied to feature(s) objectives.


Responsibilities:

  • Articulate and translate the product vision into feature(s) and communicate the product strategy effectively to key stakeholders and team members

  • Responsible and accountable for assigned feature level key performance indicators (KPI`s)

  • Support defining minimum viable product (MVP) and effectively negotiate tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer

  • Ownership of the quarterly roadmap and squad backlog (prioritization and refinement)

  • Work day to day with the squad clarifying business requirements, removing roadblocks, constantly communicating and gaining alignment around feature or product strategy

  • Analyze feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of planned or potential programs

  • Set the quality standard for delivery, develop user story acceptance criteria, accept each story and participates in team demos and retrospectives to validate quality

  • Lead problem resolution as needed to ensure that internal and external customers receive prompt and efficient service

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and IT project management as typically acquired through a Bachelors degree in relevant field (business, computer science, etc.) and a minimum of 5 years experience in business, engineering, technology and/or consulting

  • Ability to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences; educate SBU/department(s) on business vision and the impact of change

  • Ability to make difficult and quick decisions daily

  • Ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders through strong leadership skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to lead the team to push the solution and progress

  • Strong experimental mindset to drive innovation amidst uncertainty

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of cross functional areas such as Product Management, IT, Agent Experience or Customer Support
