Overview

The Senior Underwriting Audit Analyst position manages the development and production of analytics and data visualizations for the Global Audit Group. The role is to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets, and monitor auditor quality control plans. The ideal candidate for this position is able to do complete life cycle data generation and focus on critical metrics around losses, expenses, and operational performance and provide it in a clear and actionable format using data to tell help tell stories and drive strategic business decisions. Audit Analytics Analyst role will work within a team environment to gather requirements, build reports, and perform analysis to derive insights that will enhance and assist the auditing process.

Responsibilities

  • Engage collaboratively with peers throughout the organization to understand the existing business, key strategic initiatives, and risk exposures.
  • Identify and analyze developments, variances, and trends in underwriting and business operations to communicate recommendations in support of business initiatives and auditor decisions.
  • Develop an understanding of how the data contained in various systems are utilized and can be joined to create useful information to support audit decision making.
  • Ensure data integrity within dashboards and reports while adhering to procedures for increasing the quality and accuracy of information from multiple data sources.
  • Work with external MGAs, TPA, RRGs, Captives and Vendors to gather data elements for use in analysis and analytics.
  • Communicate (verbal and written) regularly with team members and business stakeholders to gather requirements and document business analytics.
  • Collaborate with other employees within the company to identify and share intelligence concepts and best practices.
  • Work in partnership with business units set overall insurance strategy for company.
  • Evaluate trends and improvement opportunities through analytics, benchmarking and review actuarial analysis.
  • Working with stakeholders where necessary, implement program changes (e.g. safety initiatives, changes in claim handling practices, litigation management strategies, etc.), evaluate results, and provide feedback to the organization.
  • Manage reporting of financial impact of risk programs.to Auditors.
  • Review existing systems in relation to future needs and benefits, and recommend improvements to meet data needs.
Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

This position requires knowledge of insurance and finance normally acquired through a bachelors degree. In addition, work experience should consist of a minimum of 5-10 years prior work experience in insurance, finance, or a similar capacity.

SKILLS

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. In addition, a strong sense of customer service is required to address questions or concerns stemming from customers, franchisees, and employees.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail required.
  • Intermediate SQL programming skills a plus
  • Prior experience in finance and/or accounting a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
