Position Overview:

The Premium Auditor responsibilities include performing comprehensive Workers’ Compensation, Package Liability and Excess Liability audits (in-house) of policyholder records. The Premium Auditor is responsible to review and quality check premium audits performed internally and externally as well as rating audits to ensure accurate calculations for audit premiums.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (Identify what percentage of time will be spent on the essential functions)

  • Acts as lead auditor in the compilation of multiple audits. This includes coordinating with insureds to ensure all data components are completed and reviewed for accuracy. Creates and manages large spreadsheets containing information of larger risks with multiple locations to provide back-up information to audits in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Act as a primary reviewer for vendor audits by ensuring audit accuracy. This includes class code verification, vendor recommendations, state exceptions and premium basis analysis. Functions as a secondary reviewer for vendor completed primary reviews.
  • Reviewing rating output on final audits for accuracy.
  • Review and resolution of disputes.
  • Supports audit team with state test audits and voluntary audit requests.
  • Provide customer support to the vendors, brokers and insureds

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma required, Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred with a strong preference for business, finance or accounting degree (some accounting courses would be a plus.)
  • 3+ Premium Audit experience required.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel including creating spreadsheets and formulas and Microsoft Word including mail merge functions. WINS and Policy Decision experience a plus.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Successful Completion of APA 91 & 92 preferred.
