Responsibilities:

  • Manage model development and application, and develop a framework for incorporating demand models into business decisions.
  • Build complex retention, conversion, and price elasticity models across auto, property and specialty products, as well as business lines and global markets.
  • Generate data-driven answers to open-ended strategic questions related to customer demand.
  • Adjust pricing factors to account for lifetime value and create lifetime value models that account for value of cross-sold policies and future likelihood to cross-sell.
  • Develop methodology for accurately projecting financial impacts of pricing actions.
  • Use competitor price data to improve price elasticity models and projection tools.
  • Share research with other departments to improve demand-related decision making throughout the organization.
  • Develop demand models for international operations.
  • Travel required up to 10%.

Qualifications:

  • The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or a related quantitative field, plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.
  • The position requires five (5) years of experience with each of the following: casualty actuarial techniques, standards, and assumptions; insurance operations and the procedures of financial, underwriting, claims, statistical, information technology, legal, and sales departments; Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and statistical software packages including R, SAS, Emblem, and Radar; data sources, tools, and the business including lines, systems, and pricing plans; predictive modeling including machine learning experience in GBM, NN, and Elastic Net; coding in SQL; and empirical measurement of price elasticity of demand.

  • Travel required up to 10%.
