As a Senior Business Analyst in the GRS Claims Strategy & Analytics team, you will develop analyses to understand business trends and support decisions that contribute to the growth of the US Casualty line of business. Under limited supervision (working individually or as part of a project team), you will perform complex research and analysis to support business operations, develop recommendations to address problems/issues and makes presentations to the supervisor, project leader or manager.

Responsibilities:
Performs analysis using complex data sets, develop reports, proposals for action or implementation plans as necessary and presents to management. Presentations may be formal or informal depending on the nature of projects. Communicates with other departments as necessary. Strong focus on analytical writing and presentation.
Conducts or directs complex research within Liberty Mutual and/or externally to obtain information such as financial data, product or market profiles. May work with other departments, conduct interviews, or conduct primary or secondary research to gather data if information is not readily available.
Analyzes information to identify trends, patterns, gaps and insights using descriptive analytics. Often uses data visualization tools to further business insights.
Develops, updates, and analyzes metrics used to determine operational performance, staffing needs, productivity, or other measures deemed valuable to an organization.
Partner with Actuarial to determine how practice changes are impacting claim development patterns.
Analyze feasibility, cost ramifications, economies, or other aspects of large or complex programs. Participate in and may lead the implementation of special projects.
Owns report development for reports/dashboards considered complex in nature. Develops, modifies, and distributes standard and ad hoc reports/dashboards to better understand the overall business and/or unit. Develops presentations and shares findings as well as recommendations.
Receives, evaluates and responds to data-related inquiries by applying knowledge of data and business operations and obtaining information from various sources.
Work with other departments to coordinate interdepartmental activities to ensure that Liberty meets customer expectations. Resolves problems as needed to ensure that customers receive prompt, efficient service in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and at least five years of relevant experience. MBA is highly desirable.

Previous experience performing analysis and presenting findings to Senior Level Leadership.

Technical skills are a plus SAS or other relational database experience, SQL, programming, dashboard tools (PowerBI, Tableau, MicroStrategy).

Previous project management experience strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply standard policies, procedures and other established guidelines.

Solid ability to support change and impart value within an organization.

Effective analytical/problem solving, critical thinking, presentation skills and decision-making.

Effective communication skills for exchanging routine and non-routine information (verbally and in writing) with people inside and outside the Company.
