Underwriter - Primary Auto-Brokerage Production

Position Title: Senior Underwriter

Position Summary: Review and determines if risk is in accordance with company objectives, guidelines and policies.

Job Duties

Underwrite Commercial Auto new and renewal accounts. Using applications, inspection reports, past claims history, endorsements, specific web-sites to determine degree of risk from such factors as business operations, mileage, loss experience, equipment schedules, financials, and MVR/driver acceptability.

Manage a book of transportation business maintain underwriting standards and profitability.

Develop and maintain positive relationships with agencies.

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: 

Bachelor’s Degree

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, attention to detail, thoroughness, decision making,

Microsoft Excel, data entry skills, the ability to work as part of a team, time management skills, and independence

Knowledge of the wholesale industry and have a minimum of five years underwriting transportation accounts

Experience with ISO rating and forms

Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers
