WSS is currently seeking a skilled full-time Accounting and Operations Assistant to work in our West Plano, Texas office. This position will provide support to the Accounting Manager in the areas of Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable and may include special projects.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, should be highly organized and deadline oriented. Due to the demands of this position, the Accounting and Operations Assistant should be able to prioritize their workload to meet fluctuating business needs. Previous insurance experience is highly desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Record and process bank deposit
  • Post checks and receipts
  • Receive payments through various methods
  • Send reminders for payments and contact agents as needed
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies
  • Collect, organize and record information received from vendors
  • Respond to inquiries related to billings and payments
  • Maintain paper and electronic files
  • Process and oversee Surplus Lines tax filings
  • Process and maintain agency appointments

If you have the following qualifications, we would like to speak with you

  • Insurance related experience is highly preferred
  • High School diploma
  • Minimum three years’ experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable functions
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Intermediate level of experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Knowledge of AIM and ImageRight helpful but not required
