PURPOSE

The purpose of the Premium Audit Representative is to produce timely and accurate audits for voluntary accounts while providing support to both the inside and field teams.

ABOUT YOUR JOB

Handles all facets of the Voluntary audit

  • Receives and handles information from policyholders for voluntary (mail audits)
  • Communicates with the policyholders and agents on questions, follow-ups, and discrepancies in reporting
  • Familiar with and reviews Pay-as-you-Go solution to review reported payrolls
  • Completes and processes timely and accurate voluntary audits
  • Assists with Phone Audit support as needed
  • Develops skills to become an audit reviewer and phone auditor
  • Researches classifications and rules in all state bureaus
  • Estimates audits by following guidelines and procedures as well as statutory requirements by state

Premium Audit Review

  • Reviews physical, virtual, phone, and voluntary audits for accuracy and submits to billing timely
  • Reviews applicable systems in order to make decisions on accuracy or return to auditor
  • Corresponds with policyholders, agents, and other company team members regarding audit findings or discrepancies

Provides support for Audit Inventory Support team

  • Prepares and distributes applicable reports to management team
  • Assists with preparation of the field audit tickets/scans and documents
  • Assists with application of reports to the information uploaded to the audit inventory

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibility.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree (B.A.) in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred. Associate in Premium Audit is a plus.

Experience of working within an office environment. Minimum of 1 year as a Premium Audit Admin or comparable position.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

None required initially.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Advanced knowledge of MS Excel with the ability to manipulate data, create reports, pivot tables, charts and other intermediate to advanced Excel functions. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply principles of logical or mathematical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical journals, financial reports and legal documents and ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. The worker is required to have visual acuity and be capable of operating and viewing computers and other electronic devices for extended periods of time.

The noise level is usually quiet in the work area with moderate noise in the department.
