The Lead Business Implementation Analyst will be responsible for providing expert systems support for complex system problems/issues, handling projects that are complex in nature, owning the throughput of Consumer Direct production support, and serve as Team Lead to increase the overall effectiveness. The position will give direction, mentor and provide input for junior Business Systems Analysts.

This role reports directly to the Manager Process Improvement and System Enhancements.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE AND PRODUCTION SUPPORT: 15%

  • Own the Consumer Direct Production support process and drive throughput with IT and other Business Analysts. Understand the priority and urgency of issues to direct correct priority.
  • Provide production assistance and support on more complex issues and able to resolve system issues.
  • Ability to understand different technology, and how it can be used to benefit business strategy. Understanding of database design, application design and test procedures.
  • Enter complex changes to databases, subsystems and user-maintained tables that impact reports and interfaces to other systems.
  • Provide guidance to other Business Analysts on the team to assist with resolution.

PROCESS ENGINEERING: 10%

  • Has a mindset for Process Documentation and able to easily document processes with little direction.
  • Document existing and new business processes and workflows with high levels of complexity.
  • Display solid knowledge of detailed project process re-engineering approaches and techniques.
  • Analyze complex processes, interface and sub-system problems for adaptive or corrective changes.

REQUIREMENTS DEFINITION: 15%

  • Interpret business, compliance, and financial needs for complex projects, with little or no background information.
  • Gather, analyze/research, and formulate data and process flows for projects with high levels of complexity.
  • Write detailed business requirements for complex projects, including the defining of scope. Be able to work with various team members including IT to ensure requirements are complete.
  • Ensure IT understanding of requested modifications of more complex projects, and the accuracy of their technical documents.
  • Facilitate interviews to gather requirements, document analysis, team meetings, white boards, and workflow analysis.

TESTING: 15%

  • Determine testing requirements for complex projects involving interfaces with sub-systems.
  • Design test plans with expected results based on the modifications and design.
  • Manage development and execution of test plans throughout project life cycle for projects with high levels of complexity.
  • Produce agreed upon deliverables on time, within estimates, and without error.
  • Act as testing coordinator for your project, supplying project team members the details needed for them to complete their own testing assignments for the sub-systems and interfaces.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT: 10%

  • Manage projects that are highly complex that may cross departmental lines, prioritizing and coordinating activities of project team members independently.
  • Identify project issues and communicate progress and obstacles to sponsors and/management.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, concurrently.
  • Anticipate problems, develop contingency plans and recommend solutions for project issues.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead/coordinate projects with little direction.

IMPLEMENTATION: 10%

  • Coordinate production implementation efforts with User community and IT.
  • Communicate implementation timelines and tasks.
  • Develop the User Documentation and Training material.

Lead: 25%

Serve as team lead and perform responsibilities to increase the overall effectiveness of the team:

  • Review team deliverables for accuracy and thoroughness from other Business Analysts on the team.
  • Ability to give direction to other Business Analysts on the team when guidance is needed.
  • Mentors other

Financial Responsibility:

Analyze cost vs benefit when recommending new processes and improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7 years business analyst experience
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Requires 7 years knowledge of a variety of applications including mainframe systems, and Microsoft suite.
  • 7 years Project Management experience or Business Analyst Certification a plus.
