Job Details
AmTrust Financial Services is currently recruiting for a Director of Financial Reporting in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Director will report into a Vice President and will oversee all consolidated US GAAP reporting, including but not limited to: the production and review of quarterly and annual financial statements, supporting technical accounting efforts, assisting in the quarterly close process and supporting an ongoing global financial systems transformation project.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coordinate, prepare and review quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and disclosures
- Actively participate in the quarterly close process, including review of reporting, analytic and cash flow packages submitted by domestic and foreign subsidiaries
- Assist external consultants and the internal financial systems group with an ongoing global financial systems transformation project, including the integration of Oracle Cloud ERP with Hyperion Financial Management
- Prepare and maintain the appropriate level of documentation for all financial statement close process internal controls
- Assist with the annual goodwill impairment testing
- Resolve reporting matters with internal and external auditors
- Support the accounting policy group with the implementation of FASB updates and other changes to the financial statements
- Provide Management with analysis or ad hoc schedules, as necessary
- Bachelors or higher degree in accounting or finance
- Strong understanding of US GAAP (experience with property and casualty insurance accounting strongly preferred)
- 8+ years accounting experience, with 3+ years in financial reporting (SEC reporting strongly preferred)
- Public accounting/Big 4 experience preferred
- CPA designation preferred, but not required
- Working knowledge of Workiva wDesk
- Experience with preparing cash flow statements and performing technical accounting research
- Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Based G/L, Hyperion Financial Management and/or Kyriba a plus
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications and ability to learn new software programs
