  • Day to day support of Investments systems, primarily in-house fixed income investment and accounting system and reporting facilities.
  • Research and document reported issues, working with development team to provide workable and supportable problem resolutions.
  • Work directly with business customers on system enhancements.  Insure changes meet accounting rules.
  • Stay abreast of changing Stat, GAAP and Tax accounting rule changes, or other compliance related aspects that impact the business.  Work with customers to keep systems compliant.
  • Engagement in strategic efforts; engage with business to develop specifications for report modernization

In the Business Intelligence Analyst (BSS) role you will be responsible for:
 
  • Implementing, supporting, enhancing, and modernizing Investments and Accounting applications. 
  • Liaison between customers and programmers, key point of contact
  • Facilitator with Offshore QA and programming resources
  • Production support/troubleshooting: Assists in troubleshooting and defect resolution of assigned tasks. May include requesting resources, migration through environments and ticket management.
  • Effectively communicates status of enhancements, change requests and defects in an agile environment.
  • Documentation and Training: Maintains documentation of current state systems and processes. May assist in development of training materials and business implementation/transition activities.
  • Utilizes business and system knowledge to support business needs. Assess and communicate impacts of changes to current state business process, products, data, feeds and systems.

Large scale project participation:
  • Participate in modernization effort, re-engineering from Mainframe to Cloud technologies and transition to one reporting platform
  • Evaluate requests for projects and enhancements. May make recommendations for operational process improvements and/or system enhancements. Assist in eliciting, documenting and validating requirements for change requests and enhancements to capabilities, products or systems. Help identify appropriate subject matter experts and stakeholders to participate in requirements sessions.

 

* Bachelors degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business, MIS, or other related field preferred.
* 5+ years of experience supporting business technology systems preferred.
* Investments business knowledge
* Statutory, GAAP and Tax accounting knowledge
* Stay up to date with changes in accounting rules.  
* Knowledge of SQL and ability to query and understand databases
* Agile/Lean team work experience, a plus

  • Risk Taking (Basic): Identifies, assesses, manages and takes intelligent risks to attain objectives.


High school diploma or equivalent required. One year of experience supporting business technology systems required.
