GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Claims Supervisor will direct and monitor the assigned claim personnel in the handling of Commercial Auto, Property and Commercial General Liability claims to ensure claim outcomes are consistent with legal requirements as well as company standards. Must be well versed in multi-state claim handling and litigation management.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Review claims to ensure compliance with client expectations, various state laws and company standards.
• Assist adjusters by providing guidance and expertise when needed.
• Prepare and participate in claim reviews with clients.
• Assist Claims Manager with various projects including reports as needed.
• Participate in hiring, personnel issues, budgetary matters, training, performance management and professional development.
• Limited participation in marketing and/or sales activities.
• Overnight travel me be required for attendance at claim reviews or account presentations

COMMUNICATION REQUIREMENTS

Oral and written communications must be expressed in clear, concise and professional manner. Must be able to remain poised in stressful situations and communicate diplomatically.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree
• 7 10 years technical experience handling liability claims.
• Prior liability claims handling experience, with emphasis on attorney represented bodily injury claims and litigated bodily injury claims.
• Prior supervisory experience
• Insurance designations such as AIC, ARM, CPCU preferred.
• Appropriate license as required by state
