Job Summary:

The Underwriting Intelligence team within National Insurance Analytics is seeking a Senior Analyst to join their team. As a part of Global Risk Solutions, National Insurance is committed to becoming an elite underwriting organization and a key part of that goal is building a data-driven culture. In order to achieve our vision, we closely partner with the many teams across Analytics, Product, Underwriting Strategy & Excellence, Operational Performance, Strategy & Insights, and all of our Underwriting segments to ensure that our underwriters are consistently executing National Insurances strategies and winning in the market.

This position is focused on conducting in-depth analyses of underwriter productivity and effectiveness to generate actionable intelligence that will inform decision-making for our stakeholders across National Insurance. The person filling this role will collaborate regularly with our key stakeholders to drive high impact initiatives that will allow National Insurance to achieve or exceed our profitability targets and grow responsibly. In this role, you will get exposure to senior leaders across National Insurance as you translate insights into go-forward business strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high visibility and high impact initiatives
  • Conduct moderate to high complexity analysis under general direction and provide key insights and recommendations that shape the analytical agenda for go-forward business strategies for leaders across National Insurance
  • Gather and query data to conduct ad hoc analysis of metrics and builds tools to help monitor execution to our key strategies
  • Closely monitor and assess operations and performance trends, as well as the impact of planned initiatives aimed at improving outcomes across underwriting segments
  • Work cross-functionally to proactively investigate, understand internal trends, and make tactical or strategic recommendations
  • Mentor, motivate and train less experienced staff and peers; may manage interns or rotational analysts

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field. Minimum 3 years, typically 4 years or more of relevant work experience.
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SAS, Access).
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision making and communication skills.
