The Global Retail Markets US Indications Team is looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual to assess the profitability of the BL Auto line of business. The key responsibility of the role will be to provide insight into the CW and State profitability of the BL Auto line through the development of rate indications. This will include not only analyzing the existing BL Auto product, but also assessing the New Auto Product, which is a unique and exciting opportunity to support a new product launch.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to: utilize advanced statistical and actuarial techniques, apply pricing and business acumen to solve problems, and analyze complex datasets in order to address key questions pertinent to the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts high complexity analysis and utilizes advanced statistical and actuarial techniques to solve business problems.

  • Engineering the creation of a new Auto rate indication for the New Auto Product. This includes helping to build the infrastructure to assess the profitability of the New Auto Product.

  • Support the production of semiannual rate indications for Commercial Auto (largest segment with GRM Business Lines)

  • Work on the Profitability Analytics initiative in order to provide deeper insights into the profitability of the business; develop new and innovative tools as needed.

  • Communicate and collaborate with a wide variety of customers and stakeholders across the entire GRM organization.

  • Presents findings / recommendations which impact profitability, growth, and/or customer satisfaction to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 5 years, typically 7 or more years, of related experience

  • Insurance designation such as ACAS, FCAS (or the equivalent of), or Master's degree in a quantitative discipline preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, SAS, Excel (VBA, macros, formulas, data visualization), and PowerPoint.

  • Familiarity with commercial insurance pricing and rating; knowledge of Commercial Auto is preferred.

  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. Understanding of sophisticated analytical techniques including predictive is a plus.
  • Exceptional planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to work independently and display high degree of ownership in assigned projects.
