Position Summary

The Senior Payroll Tax Specialist will play a key role in the corporate payroll function at Cor Partners, Inc. Our employees cover four US entities with employees in 37 states, a Canadian entity and three international entities. The role will be responsible for hands on management of payroll tax for the U.S. and Canada, including registrations, notices, quarterly balancing with ADP/OSV, and maintaining Workday tax configuration. A strong knowledge of U.S. local taxes is essential. The role also will additionally partner with finance on payroll accounting & reconciliation issues, liaison with international payroll providers, and provide backup processing for U.S./Canada payroll. The right candidate will have a strong broad knowledge of payroll tax, an eagerness to learn and organized with a record of business process improvement.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Tax related

  • Maintain all US state and local registrations for each entity including online accounts
  • Maintain all Workday tax configurations
  • Monitor and facilitate all tax notices through resolution
  • Complete US and Canada quarterly tax reconciliations with ADP & OSV respectively
  • Facilitate all tax amendments and adjustment processing
  • Function as the liaison with ADP & OSV for all tax issues, acting as in-house expert

International Payroll

  • Maintain knowledge of international tax elements and monitor processing of international payroll providers
  • Review and ensure all tax payments are made timely and accurately

Year End Processing

  • Complete year end reconciliation of W2s (US) and T4s (Canada)
  • Completion of year end W2 and T4 production

Payroll Accounting

  • Partner with finance teams to identify and clear reconciling items
  • Maintain a knowledge of respective finance accounting processes with respect to GL posting
  • Maintain strong Workday reporting capabilities to facilitate accounting processes

Payroll Processing

  • Provide back-up assistance to US/Canada payroll processor where required

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years extensive experience managing U.S. payroll tax in large number of states (including key states with local taxes PA/IN/OH)
  • Solid Workday systems experience with payroll processing and tax configuration
  • Proven knowledge ADP SmartCompliance and strong background in tax reconciliations
  • Payroll processing experience in US & Canada
  • Established experience managing international payroll through international service providers
  • Minimum Associates degree in accounting with experience is GL journal entries & reconciliations
  • Solid Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups and basic macros
