The VP, Asset Disposition is responsible for the development, planning, management and implementation of all activities required to manage existing and new channel relationships to optimize disposal of devices recovered from Trade-in, Upgrade and Asset disposition services offered to Assurant clients.. The Head of Asset Disposition will be responsible to develop, manage and execute business plans globally. He/She will be tasked with development of innovative ways to maximize device residual values while minimizing dependency on the traditional disposition channels. The head of Asset Disposition will act as the liaison between the buyers, the sellers, and the internal cross-functional teams supporting Trade-in & Upgrade and Asset recovery services. Will troubleshoot problems or issues through to completion with minimal guidance. This position reports to the VP, Trade-in & Upgrade.

  • Manage Operating plans with revenues in excess of $400 Million
  • Manage, Develop & Establish device acquisition and disposition channels globally.
  • Lead the eCommerce channels operations in new and existing markets.
  • Global ownership of eCommerce channels for sales of mobile device and gadgets
  • Lead deployment of MyWit.com and eCommerce marketplaces in target geographies for Assurant
  • Be accountable for customer experience associated with the sales on the MyWit channels
  • Oversee and support marketing & digital content for websites thedevicelist.com and online sales platform (Ebay, Amazon, etc.)
  • Implement digital marketing strategy by understanding customer and necessary messaging to optimize distribution of devices.
  • Engage in ongoing competitor analysis to ensure Assurant has the Best in Class customer experience with the resources available.
  • Responsible for the overall execution of product merchandising.
  • Assess KPIs for current channels and report opportunities and anomalies.
  • Build PowerPoint presentations and Excel reports for readouts to the business lead and executive steering committee
  • Collaborate with the Communications and Business Alignment teams to generate ideas and strategies based upon data-driven insights and recommendations
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure coordination of daily operations with third party partners in order to optimize handset and accessory disposal
  • Maximize return on assets through judicious discovery of optimal disposal channel.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service with internal and external customers and ensure that purchasing and liquidation procedures are accountable and transparent, include all required information and documentation.
  • Lead staff to improve knowledge of Asset Disposition for ongoing strengthening of Trade-in & Upgrade.
  • Oversee coordination activities with internal cross functional team in order to optimize asset management and asset recovery programs.
  • Research market levers and cost fluctuations by product.
  • Generate, implement, develop and execute a sales strategy to achieve or exceed the companys target growth and margin requirements.
  • Develop and maintain business plans with identified accounts.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with appropriate channel partners.
  • Analyze factors in the marketplace to formulate forecasts, estimates and projections that impact selling initiatives.
  • Develop processes and procedures to ensure accurate and comprehensive sales planning and forecasting.
  • Establish strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Perform other related tasks or duties as required or assigned.

Required experience, skills or knowledge:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of sales experience selling to distributors, resellers, value added resellers, or wholesalers and a demonstrated experience focused on the handset channel.
  • 5+ years of experience working for a large MNO in the capacity of retail and supply chain management
  • 4+ years of experience in buying or procurement.
  • 30% Travel
  • Working knowledge of wireless handsets and the sales channels in which they are bought and sold
  • Ability to assess customer needs, aptitude for systems and processes, advanced problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of current business software, including spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, web browsers and email programs
