How This Role Contributes to Brighthouse Financial:

The life and LTC Hybrid Sales Specialist is responsible for developing and executing sales business plans for the assigned territory. This includes life insurance sales through our distribution partners, financial advisor training and additional support to help their clients achieve financial security with certainty and confidence, while promoting the Brighthouse Financial brand and increasing market share.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actively consult both in person and virtually with financial advisors to provide them with value-added strategies to increase their business and expand their partnership with Brighthouse Financial
  • Responsible for cultivating new relationships within the assigned territory with financial advisors and distribution partners to drive market share and advance advisors through the sales process
  • Conduct joint meetings with financial advisors and clients as a subject matter expert leading to the sale of Life Insurance. Earning the financial advisors trust is crucial for successful job execution
  • Educate financial advisors on both products and the process of selling life insurance as part of a financial plan
  • Provide first class service to existing relationships and producing agents inside the assigned territory
  • Strategically plan and manage the deployment of resources to maximize territory sales and advisor engagement while prioritizing budget and expense management. Executing on a planned return on every dollar you spend
  • Work in partnership with the Sales Leadership team, External Wholesalers, and Business Development Specialists to identify opportunities and foster leads
  • Successful achievement of expected sales goals and activity metrics
  • Full accountability and ownership of problems until resolution is complete

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 3+ years sales experience desired in the Financial Services industry either as an internal/external wholesaler or as a financial advisor
  • Proven ability to grow a territory as measured by sales and persistency of business as measured by activity, sales pipeline and business results
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, always operating with a high degree of professionalism
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • Thorough industry and product knowledge with proven ability to demonstrate core sales principles: prospect identification, follow a sales process and a meeting cadence, drive for results
  • FINRA Series 6 or 7 and Series 63, Life and Health with Variable Authority
  • Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to travel up to 25%
