Summary/Job Purpose:

The Account Representative is responsible to provide English and/or Japanese interpretation on policy requests and inquiries from agents and Japanese insured and offer coverage consultation, risk management and assist in resolution of service issues.

Essential Functions:

Account Functions 50%

  • Develops a working knowledge of personal lines auto, homeowners, fire, and excess liability and boat coverages for all states and multiple carriers.
  • Develops a working knowledge of all entry and rating procedures and requirements for above coverages.
  • Enters all acitivies within the Applied Agency system and completes daily activites within required deadline.

Claims Management 30%

  • Receives claims for insureds who need Japanese interpretation. Forwards information to claims handling offices. Follows-up where necessary.

Customer Support 20%

  • Answers incoming phone calls, faxes and email inquiries from customers/agents for quotations, policy changes, and cancellations. Interprets policy information.

Education and Experience Required:

Diploma/Degree & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelors degree is preferred
  • 3 years of insurance experience is required.
  • Must have Property & Casualty Agent License.
  • Knowledge of Applied Agency Management System is preffered.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Japanese ( for bi-lingual role only) is required.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of claim application systems including IVOS and Guidewire preferred.
