Job Summary
Under general supervision, candidate completes rating-related tasks including requirements gathering, design, analysis, coding, configuring, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, documentation, application health monitoring/alerting, and implementation of programs. This job does not lead others. Experience with premium generation, Actuary, Regulatory Compliance, and/or Underwriting preferred.


Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Performs system programming tasks of medium complexity within the CGI Ratabase Suite. Tasks require proficient programming and analytical skills. Responsibilities include requirements gathering, design, performing analysis, coding, configuration, testing, debugging, incident investigation documentation and application health monitoring/alerting and implementation of programs. Manages these tasks simultaneously. Ensures customer satisfaction through professional communication, follow-up, and responsiveness to issues. Actively seeks opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities. Continues to develop business knowledge while learning how work assignments address business issues. May begin to provide guidance and mentorship to lower level technical employees. Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned projects. Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree preferred. Programming/development/Business Analyst experience preferred. Knowledge of insurance or actuarial concepts a plus.

Technical Knowledge: Developing analytical skills for programming/ configuration tasks, identifying discrepancies, incident and defect trends and resolutions, solution delivery, monitoring and/or support of applications of basic complexity. In addition, demonstrates an aptitude for learning assigned supported business systems and technology. Communication Skills: Ability to communicate thoughts/ideas clearly. Demonstrates basic active and effective communication skills with team members - including active listening and effective written and verbal communication skills. Effectively contributes and communicates with the immediate team. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Able to recognize and analyze basic technology defects and incidents and develop timely, practical, cost effective solutions with supervisory assistance. Able to identify cause and effect relationships in assigned systems and applications. Team Orientation: Ability to foster relationships with peers to achieve objectives. Practices objectivity and openness to others' views Planning: Ability to manage time and competing priorities. Developing the ability to accurately evaluate and estimate new tasks. Developing a planning skill set including providing management with accurate and timely status information.

Environmental/Work Schedules/Other
Occasional overtime as needed, but not on a regular basis.

Physical Requirements
Operates standard office equipment. Requires extended periods of computer use. Requires extended periods of sitting.

Licensing or Certificates
Kanban/Agile/SAFe, Ratabase certifications preferred, but not required.
