Our Global Retail Markets Business Lines State Actuarial Support (BL SAS) team is searching for a Senior Analyst who will play an important role in achieving profitability in support of commercial lines of business.

In this position, you will analyze data, develop recommendations, and present finding to partners. You will be responsible for producing rate filing support to address rate deficiencies/redundancies. This role will make use of your solid analytical and technical skills and strong project management skills, as well as your abilities to prioritize in a dynamic environment, provide excellent customer service and effectively communicate and collaborate across departments. You will work closely with State Management, Product Support Services and Product Automation to ensure rates are accurately and efficiently filed and implemented.

This posting is a range posting and may be filled as a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Senior Analyst, or Consultant based on experience level. The hiring manager is open to individuals with an analyst or actuarial background.

In this role you will:

  • Build data packets to calculate rate impacts and analyze state rate need for commercial lines of business.
  • Conduct complex analysis under general direction.
  • Make recommendations on rate levers for assigned territory and present results to State Management
  • Become an SME in a particular line of business
  • Prepare filing support and respond to regulators objections.
  • Passionately focused on automation and process improvements.
  • Build and maintain tools and queries
  • Conduct competitive intelligence and understand market trends for assigned states
  • Lead aspects of complex projects

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree and 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Knowledge of actuarial ratemaking concepts is helpful
  • Proficiency in Excel, SAS (SQL) and VBA
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and highly organized
  • Ability to efficiently manage various tasks simultaneously and adapt well to change
