Overview

The Claim Business Systems Consultant (CBSC) role is a key member of the Claim Technology Solutions (CTS) team.

The Claim Business Systems Consultant (CBSC) will have the core responsibility of managing and auditing claim system access for all employees and third-party vendors supporting AmTrust with the administration of Claims. The CBSC will also provide oversight, enrollment management and governance of all AmTrust Claim department employees being provided access to external third-party systems such as ISO, Medical Bill Adjudication, Pharmacy Benefit Management, etc.

The Claim Business Systems Consultant (CBSC) will have the core responsibility of managing, auditing and introduction of Forms and Correspondence into the Claim Enterprise Content Management system which is utilized by Global Claims personnel in their daily communications with Insureds, Policyholders, Employers, Claimants and Jurisdictional entities.

The Claim Business Systems Consultant (CBSC) will also assist in problem and issue identification, communication and management in partnership with the Claim Business Product Managers and Claim Project Managers.

Responsibilities

Partner with Claim Business Product Managers, Claim Project Managers and Global Claims Executive Leadership Team to:

  • Provide issue status to Global Claims leaders and Claim Project Managers.
  • Develop and deliver end user training for new or enhanced applications.
  • Act as primary first level liaison between Global Claims employees and IT.
  • Provides guidance, assistance, coordination and follow-up on Global Claims employee inquiries and in the resolution of reported system problems or malfunctions.
  • Analyzes and identifies the sources of application problems and works with IT to successfully resolve application problems.
  • Coordinates with Global Claims end users to determine requirements for systems development or revision.
  • May assist with the testing of system enhancements. Create test strategies and oversee results.
  • Troubleshoot all system problems and coordinates resolution with IT staff to ensure that system changes are appropriate and viable.
  • Participates in production implementation, verification and accountable for validation of particular enhancements.
  • Plan, document, evaluate and track testing results to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
  • Do preliminary analysis to determine sources of discrepancies between actual and expected results.
  • Responsible for determining test requirements based on project specifications.
  • Participate in steering committees to analyze, prioritize and deliver systems development issues.
  • Communicate and interact with appropriate areas on changes and enhancements that may impact data, workflow and functionality.
  • Performs gap analysis and documents results.
  • Collects and defines requirements, translates into functional design documents and participates in the technical design, test planning and user documentation processes. Obtains business area sign-off.
  • Works with users and peers in planning, developing, implementing, and supporting new or existing applications. Analyzes business processes.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Commercial Lines Property & Casualty insurance, inclusive of Workers Compensation, highly desired. Hands on involvement with claims facing solutions and experiences
  • Experience running requirements gathering sessions.
  • Experience with full SDLC methodology including requirements, design, testing and support in an agile environment.
  • 5 plus years of experience in the design and development of complex business systems preferably in the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
  • Experience with manual regression testing, developing test plans and test cases.
  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to share knowledge and train others.
  • Strong knowledge of assigned claims products and related business requirements

  • Risk Taking (Basic) Identifies, assesses, manages and takes intelligent risks to attain objectives.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.
  • Willingness to travel.
