Due to our continued success and growth as a company, we are searching for qualified candidates to become a member of our claims team.

General Description:

Manage within company standards and best practices New York Workers Compensation claims with subrogation potential. Identify subrogation potential, send lien letters, address request for consent to settle, calculate lien reimbursements, identify and request reimbursement under loss transfer., work closely with claims specialist, supervisors, and attorneys; manage subrogation and negotiate settlements to ensure specific customer requirements to achieve the best possible outcome in the claim.

Essential Job Duties:

Receives claim, reviews subrogation potential, sends out lien letters

Maintains diary to follow up on third party actions, violations of Section 29, and obtain loss transfer and lien reimbursements

Determine if and what case law applies to a particular case, calculates equable share of attorney fees

Understand MVA first party benefits and reimbursable items

Negotiates settlements of claims and liens

Actively manage the subrogation process

Identifies potential subrogation claims and places at fault parties on notice of potential claims.

Communicate claim status with customer and claimant

Adhere to client guidelines & participate in claim reviews as needed

Develops & maintains professional customer relationships

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

1. Excellent oral and written communication skills

2. PC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

3. Effective analytical and interpretive skills

4. Strong organizational skills

5. Good interpersonal skills

6. Ability to work in a team environment

7. Ability to work independently

8. Knowledge of the entire claims administration, subrogation, and Workers Compensation investigation procedures.

9. Knowledge of third party collections

10. Research, analyze, and interpret subrogation laws in Tennessee

Education/Training Requirements:

1.Four year degree at an accredited college or university preferred

2.Three years of Worker Compensation Subrogation claims management required

3.Excellent oral, written communication skills & customer service

4.PC literate, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

5.Effective analytical & interpretive skills

6.Strong organizational skills

7.Great interpersonal skills

8.Ability to work in a team environment

9.Ability to work independently

10.Knowledge of the entire claims administration, case management, & cost containment solution as applicable to Worker Compensation

11.Municipality experience preferred
