Job Summary

Developer Services within Infrastructure & Cloud Services organization provides the tools and resources that enable Travelers Software Engineers and Developers across all Lines of Business Applications areasperform their jobs in an agile, efficient and collaborative manner.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Performance Engineer with a strong background in Application Performance Management, who brings an understanding of the complex systems environments and dependencies associated with microservice architecture.




Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide consulting and support for Application Performance Management tools, technologies and practices across the Enterprise. Our customers include Performance, DevOps and AppDev teams across Line of Business (LoB) IT.
  • Collaborate with team members and LoB IT stakeholders, providing consultation, knowledge transfer and guidance. Additionally, serve as an SME resource for triage and resolution of chronic or complex issues.
  • Ongoing assessment of new capabilities and emerging technologies to ensure our practice evolves and continues to align with business needs.
  • Promote and encourage our customers to maximize their use of existing tools and capabilities in order to gain efficiencies and insights.


Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of experience in Technology required.

Education, Work Experience & Knowledge
Bachelor's degree in Technology or a related field preferred. 7 years of experience in Technology preferred. 2 years of experience as a technical lead preferred. Advanced knowledge of infrastructure technologies such as Network, Database, Server, Storage etc. preferred.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
  • Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, analysis, and diagnostics utilizing one or more of the following APM tools: Dynatrace, AppDynamics or New Relic is preferred. Alternatively, experience with open source tracing tools such as JMeter, Zipkin and Jaeger will also be considered.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as javascript, JEE, .NET, Linux, Windows, VMWare
    • Preferred: Experience providing APM support for Cloud-Native applications (leveraging Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes-based platforms, etc.).
  • Demonstrated communication skills with a variety of audiences (technology professionals and leadership, IT partners including vendors, contractors and customers/stake-holders)
  • Experience as a technical lead from project/initiative inception through implementation
