The Global Retail Markets Claims team is hiring for an Analyst, Advanced Analytics on our Claims Portfolio Management team. This team has 3 key responsibilities: intake & prioritization, project management best practices, and flexible resources that support projects across Claims. In this position you will work on rotational assignments across top priority Claims projects. Past assignment examples include analyzing Auto appraisal proof of concepts, crafting test kitchens, assessing process performance, and much more.

In this role you will

  • Work on short-term, flexible, dynamic assignments to drive success in achieving business goals
  • Collaborate with business partners across the organization to support high priority claims initiatives
  • Communicate and collaborate across a wide range of internal teams

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts moderate complexity analysis under minimal supervision across various business units/functions in Claims.
  • Examines data and identifies trends and issues following pre-defined business processes. Provides recommendations and presents findings to key partners.
  • Queries data to conduct ad hoc analyses of metrics.
  • Analyzes results for a (narrowly) defined scope to quantify the competitive performance of the business.
  • Sets up/runs models with substantial support from expert analysts.
  • May utilize statistical techniques to tackle business problems. May utilize, update and adapt predictive modeling tools and/or focus on the application of the tools.
  • Serves as point person for high impact projects.
  • Serves as team member on medium-term or moderate complexity projects and may occasionally lead own work stream.
  • Provides recommendations on training and process to manager/mentor.
  • Contributes to the improvement and development of instructions and training materials.
  • May begin building and updating training materials.
  • Actively shares job knowledge with less experienced analysts.
  • May be assigned to mentor a new hire, depending on experience

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus 2-4 years of experience, or Master's Degree with no professional experience, or equivalent. Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software packages (SAS). Position requires strong planning, analytical, decision-making and communication skills. Knowledge of data sources, tools and common statistical principals. Understanding of intricacies of business supported is helpful. Understands how actions tie to systems capabilities and flow through to our financials/business drivers. Ability to learn how to build simple tools and queries for others to use. Experience with Power BI a plus. Ability to transition on/off projects expertly. Can effectively work in a matrix environment.
