The Research and Development team is part of the Corporate Exposure Management team which sits within Corporate Enterprise Risk Management and is charged with creating the Liberty view of Catastrophe risk. The analyst will be part of a team that has expertise in natural hazards, engineering, catastrophe risk, and insurance risk modeling.

Responsibilities:

• Help create the Liberty view of risk for Casualty Catastrophes (including Cyber risks) by analyzing vendor models and presenting findings to Corporate teams, SBU teams, and other stakeholders.

• Interact with Corporate and SBU teams to accurately collect and monitor casualty data on a regular basis and to improve data quality over time

• Run vendor models on Libertys portfolio of risks

• Work with Corporate and SBU teams to assess model results and document possible weaknesses or recommended adjustments

• Assist with creating and operationalizing process for estimating and reporting Casualty Catastrophes, including developing deterministic Realistic Disaster Scenarios

• Participate in group-wide ERM related initiatives comprised of cross-functional teams

Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, or similar
• At least 3 years of relevant work experience
• Demonstrated proficiency in data management and/or statistical analysis. Strong SQL knowledge
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Background in casualty lines of business a plus
