SUMMARY:

The Claims Performance Analyst works closely with Claims leadership, staffing modelers and other business partners to gather data, recognize trends and actively conduct further analysis to develop improvement opportunities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Perform data gathering, reporting, and analysis. Develop advanced spreadsheets that reduce redundancies, provide consistency, and maximize efficiency in reporting. Evaluate and interpret data requests to determine how available data may fulfill the information need in question.
• Identify data trends and patterns; facilitate root cause analysis; communicate observations and recommend solution alternatives to management.
• Develop and update data mining capabilities and reporting methodology specific to compliance and quality audits.
• Research and provide in-depth analysis of compliance & quality metrics, leading to improved departmental processes. Understand and communicate ongoing risks and opportunities that impact achievement of targets.
• Preparation and review of monthly reports. Process involves working with Claims leaders to identify key drivers and coordination with team members.
• Research and provide in-depth analysis on compliance & quality metrics, including the correlation to decisions and results.
• Preparation of presentations for senior leader review meetings. Continually looking for opportunities within the reporting processes and working with team mates to leverage best practices.
• Assist in special projects or non-recurring projects as appropriate.

Bachelors' degree required - concentration in analytic area preferred.


SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• 3-5 years of professional analytics experience or similar activity outside of the organization.

• High technical ability working with multiple data sources and reporting (data gathering, reporting, and analysis, root cause analysis, etc).

• 5+ years claims experience multiple lines.

• PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Visio, etc.).

• Written and Verbal presentation.

• Strong organization, analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple responsibilities and deadlines.

• Strong leadership and consultative skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Results oriented, accountable, motivated and flexible.

• Excellent communication skills, ability to articulate information to all levels and functions of management.
