Job Summary
As a leader in our Digital Enablement and Enterprise Architecture organization, you would be responsible for inspiring the vision, defining the strategy and leading the roadmap for customer and employee-centric enterprise digital products that support Travelers' 'Perform & Transform' objectives. In this role, you will provide leadership to product engineering practice critical to delivering on our enterprise digital product capabilities. This role will require a passion for delivering best-in-class digital experiences to solve business problems that create new growth for the business. The ideal candidate will have a strong enterprise orientation, strategic thinking, business and technology leadership experience, entrepreneurial spirit, superior business and communication skills, broad-based expertise in customer experience design and modern product delivery approaches such as design thinking and agile methodologies, and passion for innovation. This job is a Manager of managers: Senior level manager that is responsible for managing the objectives, performance, and compensation of lower levels of management. This job works under Broad Oversight: Receives guidance in terms of broad goals and overall objectives and establishes the methods to attain them. Generally the incumbent is in charge of an area of work and typically formulates policy for this area, but may have final authority for approving policy.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Accountable for advancing customer centric digital capabilities through setting the strategy, defining roadmap, and providing oversight as well as hands-on leadership for enterprise digital products in support and alignment with the Technology direction and business objectives. Oversee digital product engineering processes and implement engineering best practices and standards. Drive digital product innovation and optimization ensuring sustainability and performance to maximize investments and value. Collaborate on architectural and design considerations to ensure strategic and flexible architecture to meet the business needs. Serve as the face and thought leader for digital product engineering, implementation and management. Consume, inform, and support business and digital strategies, and serve as the escalation point for business and technical decisions. Manage demand, execution and maintenance of enterprise digital capabilities, with accountability for schedule, quality, uptime, currency, and effectiveness. Understand and keep others informed of performance indicators & usage patterns. Lead and direct all aspects of the organization, including financial/budgetary oversight, management of digital products and service delivery. Recruit, manage, retain, coach and develop a team of outstanding software engineering professionals providing software development across multiple technology stacks. Responsible for fulfilling IT audit requirements for the Digital Product Engineering organization, ensuring compliance with IT standards, policies, and governance. Effectively engage as a member of the senior leadership team for the Digital Enablement and Enterprise Architecture organization. Champion a culture of innovation and nimble innovation pipeline. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specific & Technical Skills & Competencies
Strong experience and technical expertise in digital product engineering and web technology. Comfort leading and working across multiple development functions and platforms using different technologies including web and backend. Experience and expertise with Agile & DevOps methodologies and tools. Ability to manage both at the strategic and operational levels. A continued love and curiosity for technology and desire to stay familiar with the latest available technologies. Able to evaluate market and industry trends within related technical domains. Possesses strong analytical skills to effectively create recommendations, influence decision-making, assess impacts, compare solutions, problem solve, and achieve business and/or technical objectives. Thoroughly understands how overall responsibilities fit within broader technical environment and has strong ability to influence technology recommendations for the enterprise. Proven success of building highly engaged, results driven and diverse engineering teams, cultivating talent and employee growth. Experience leading large-scale technology organization and building and leading teams both directly and indirectly. Driven/ resourceful independent operator. Finds innovative solutions to address road blocks and makes things happen.
