Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for directing the most complex Property claims. Superior technical skills are required to ensure that the highest level of quality is achieved on an every claim basis. Providing superior technical and operational support to the Business Insurance Property Major Case 2nd VP, Executive General Adjusters and General Adjusters to drive file quality. This job does not manage others.

Responsible and accountable for providing and ensuring file quality on a larger more complex file basis (verification, loss adjustment, file documentation) through technical assistance and mentoring of BI Major Case Unit staff. Direct handle selected losses. Co-adjust Business Insurance Property losses with an anticipated exposure in excess of $1,000,000; (Director-Executive General Adjuster / Executive General Adjuster-General Adjuster-Director / General Adjuster-Director) Manage selected losses assigned to independent adjusters. Manage quota share claims. Manage selected litigated files. Complete self-reviews on files handled by Executive General Adjusters. Participate on Annual Quality Management Review Team. Coordinate/Participate in General Adjuster Development Program. Review all coverage denials. Major Case Unit CAT Management to include triaging severity losses, maintaining log and handling/co-adjusting certain claims. Facilitate Large Loss Conference Calls with our Business Insurance Partners. Ensure that all Large Loss Reports are professionally completed when published and distributed on losses in excess of $1,000,000. This includes, but is not limited to accurately reflecting the content of the report, gross and net exposures at the time of submission, etc. Support business partners as needed. Other duties as assigned.

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. Proficient oral and written communication skills. Leadership skills; organization, planning, analytical, supervision, etc. Technology Skills; systems, software applications, computer savvy included but not limited to Microsoft Word/Excel and Xactimate. Thorough understanding of business insurance products, policy language, exclusions, ISO and proprietary or manuscript forms. Skilled in coverage and damage analysis. Ability to handle multiple jurisdictions and willingness to learn the law, claim regulations, first party DOI regulations and nuances of new jurisdictions.

Must be technically proficient in the areas of coverage, claim management, investigation, damage verification and adjustment. Exceptional negotiation skills a must. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, constructively manage conflict and able to make decisions. Strong decision making and time management skills Strong conflict management Drive the information advantage including data integrity, use of management information and utilization of technology and tools. Exhibit Leadership by executing the overall Property Business Strategies, Leading Change, Driving Results and Promoting the Enterprise Culture.

A minimum of 7 years experience handling complex property claims is essential for this position. Proficient use of technology; including, Microsoft Word, Excel, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software required. In order to perform the essential job functions of this job, acquisition and maintenance of Insurance License(s) may be required to comply with state and Travelers requirements. Generally, License(s) are required to be obtained within three months of starting the job. Valid Drivers license. AIC and CPCU a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Operates standard office equipment. Requires extended periods of computer use. Requires extended periods of sitting. Requires periods of driving. Requires periods of travel as needed. Requires travel 10% to 20% of time.
