Assurant is seeking a Regional Sales Director (100% Work from home)

The Regional Sales Director expands business opportunities by evaluating clients position in industry and researching and analyzing solutions. Achieves sales objectives by training client staff and developing and enhancing existing products. Recommends actions by evaluating current product results and monitoring competitive developments. Keeps market and management informed of industry developments by monitoring competitive products and reaction from customers.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing & increasing client sales at the territory level through relationships with various members of client sales and operations personnel and management, including, but not limited to; Territory/Market Directors, Territory/Market Sales Directors, Sales Managers, Location Managers, General Managers and Counselors.
  • Conduct Intermediate Level Assurant (AML) product training, client sales training at territory, market, or location level as assigned or through web-based training programs.
  • Develop training programs for client staff.
  • Assist in the recruiting, training and successful on-boarding of sales counselors, including field sales activity with counselors.
  • Able to host client sales meetings as directed by client manager.
  • Set sales goals in collaboration with client management (Territory Sales Director, Market Director, Sales Managers), and Assurant Regional Sales Director, Supervisor. Develop, monitor and circulate sales reports to ensure sales goals are met.
  • Consult with client management to make and execute plans for achieving or exceeding sales goals.
  • Develop and enhance Assurants relationship with our client management at various levels in the field to include, district, regional and location level.
  • Communicate sales results and plans for marketing efforts to client and Assurant management.
  • Deliver summary and activity reports at regular business reviews with client.
  • Serve as primary contact between Assurant and client, as it relates to sales for assigned territory.
  • Execute current (client) sales models.
  • Assist in the development and execution of promotions and contests for sales achievements to the extent allowed by client.
  • Ensure travel budget adherence and control expenses while maintaining quality of client service.
  • Conduct market analysis regularly and prepare reports on the competitive environment for Sales Managers, Territory Sales Directors, and Market Sales Directors.
  • Identify and assist in resolution of customer and client service quality process issues with the Assurant Director of North American Sales to ensure a positive root cause resolution.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned by manager.
  • Mentor RSD I on assigned basis as determined by Director North American Preneed Sales (Manager).
  • Knowledge and successful use of client website).
  • Successful completion of additionally assigned Assurant Learning courses and personal development courses agreed upon with manager.
  • Ability to execute fully the Client Sales Playbook to drive PAF sales.
  • Works under minimal supervision. Some latitude for un-reviewed action.
  • Uses originality and evaluation in the accomplishment of assigned tasks.
  • Will assist in orientation, training, and coaching of lower level RSD
  • Interacts with internal Mid-level to senior management, sales and support staff within Global Preneed and external clients field-based mid-level management (directors), and client headquarters and location staff

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years in face-to-face consumer sales.
  • 1 year of business to business selling and practical client training experience.
  • Ability to Travel 70% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to engage sales counselors and Market Directors and Field Development Sales Managers personally and communicate effectively, even under stress.
  • Expert user of current business software, including spreadsheet, word processing, presentation software, web browser and email programs.
  • Strong analytical skillsable to analyze sales results, create a plan for improving sales results, and execute the plan.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of sales and training techniques, client service, account development; multimedia presentation, and marketing standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment meeting tight deadlines while multitasking.
  • Ability to influence internal and external clients by positioning client specific value propositions as it relates to increasing sales or making program changes.
