Job Description

The Supervisor I reports to the Operations Manager and provide day-to-day guidance to a team of 8-10 leave and disability specialists. Provides feedback to the client service team to ensure all customer needs are met and is the direct operational contact for the customer.

Responsible for operational results to include:

  • Audits work for accuracy, makes necessary corrections to ensure thoroughness
  • Manages daily incoming work
  • Makes calls as need to ensure work product is as expected including scheduling as required
  • Follow up by phone to ensure customer/patient/client satisfaction.
  • Helps investigates customers problems and finds solutions.
  • Ensure daily work assignment (logs/billing sheets, etc.) are complete
  • Monitor all systems and reports to ensure all files are being processed timely.
  • Act as first point of contact for team members when attempting to resolve and triage issues.
  • Respond and correct billing errors or discrepancies.
  • Assisting in IT testing and development as needed
  • Manage reporting needs as assigned.
  • Develop and refine process efficiencies
  • Continue to answer phones and assist customers
  • Continue to enter and process work orders, assignments

Provide oversight for employee performance with Manager:

  • Approve employee payroll each week.
  • Manage employees schedule and time off requests.
  • Cover employees shifts as needed due to absence.
  • Provide documentation and feedback to ensure benchmarks are met
  • Assist in writing and delivering annual employee reviews

Additional duties:

  • Join the closing supervisor rotation.
  • Assist with other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in managing FMLA/STD claims, absence management or similar claims experience preferred
