Ryan Specialty Group is looking for an Information Security Intern to join our Chicago, IL office. We are a fast paced, energetic and rapidly growing organization that offers a great opportunity for someone interested in further developing their career.
Position Summary:
The Information Security intern will help build out an application inventory for all of our applications, and will provide assistance on projects as we build out various functions in the Information Security department. This internship will provide opportunities to learn about general security operations, project and tool deployments, as well as how governance, risk and compliance are managed.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the creation of an application inventory.
- Collaborate with various teams to better understand each application, how its used, by whom, including the types of data stored and the security around both the application itself and the data.
- Monitor other aspects of Information Security as we build out various functions in the department.
- Gather information over the phone when needed from partners across the country and in Europe.
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Education/Experience/Skills:
- Coursework in Information Security such as Cyber Risk Management, Asset Protection, Security Operations or Administration, Network Security, or Security Systems are helpful but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable with online technologies
- Ability to explain technical concepts to individuals not as familiar with Information Security.
- Ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
