  We are seeking a Director of Internal Communications who will be responsible for designing, leading and continuously improving internal communication strategies and plans within Liberty Mutual Insurance Group. You will be responsible for developing and leading internal communications for our Finance and Talent function and keeping employees engaged and informed about priorities, events and progress.  You will:
  • Drive the internal communication strategy and direction within Finance and Talent - two geographically and functionally diverse teams.
  • Work collaboratively with executive leadership teams to develop and drive innovative and integrated communication strategies.
  • Influence senior leader communications, including providing counsel and support to C-level executives. Maintain a consistent voice for leadership communications.
  • Translate business/functional objectives and key priorities into strategic communications plans.
  • Execute programs, processes, approaches, campaigns, and channels that significantly influence the way we communicate.
  • Support change, engage employees, and shape the culture to ultimately enhance and continuously improve the employee experience.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and alignment to overall Liberty Mutual brand & strategy.
  • Define team and individual performance objectives and development plans and ensure alignment with project and department objectives.
Responsibilities:
  • Position requires strong strategic and analytical thinking, the ability to manage multiple stakeholder relationships and influencing skills in a matrix organization. Candidates must demonstrate ability to drive tangible results.
  • Develop and own the communication strategy and execution.
  • Work with multiple senior executives as a coach and counsel to ensure communications are aligned and coordinated, and support the culture and direction of the function.
  • Understand business objectives and implement programs and processes to drive employee engagement in an impactful and meaningful way.
  • Responsible for all communication channels and governance within the aligned function and monitoring key metrics to evaluate effectiveness of communication plans.
  • Work cohesively and collaborate with lead communicators in other business units to ensure smooth and seamless coordination of communications.
  • Establish and create alignment on best practices for cultivating a dynamic employee experience through communications.
  • Facilitate communications that span across multiple business units/functional areas and/or enterprise wide requiring the need to influence without authority and build relationships with key stakeholders.
Qualifications:

 

Bachelor's Degree required, MBA preferred. Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience and progressively more responsible communications experience and a proven track record of developing and executing strategies that drive cultural and organizational change at the front line and manager level. Exceptional program management skills and the ability to organize, plan, and execute communication strategies. Advanced knowledge of project management concepts, practices and techniques and the ability to promote a team environment. Experience coaching and managing employees is required.
